As Americans celebrated the first Pope elect in history to be born in the United States, President Donald Trump made claims of fraud and election interference against the Vatican.
“I know it was rigged because I should have won,” said Mr. Trump. “I had more votes than anybody. Lots of votes, so many votes! There’s no question the whole thing was rigged!”
Trump had made an offhand comment recently that “I’d like to be Pope. That’s my#1 choice!” It now appears he was serious. White House sides pointed out he couldn’t be both President of the United States and Pope. After a minute of contemplating, Mr. Trump said, “Let Leo have it. I’m having more fun here.”
